WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO WORK WITH ME?

Typically, I’ll guide you through the following stages from first enquiry to completed project…

1.  Getting to know you

First up, we’ll have an initial chat to make sure I’m going to be the right fit for your needs. You can get a sense of my approach and my experience, and I can assess your copy requirements and see how I might be able to help.

2.  Let’s talk money & timing

If you decide to work with me, we’ll discuss fees and timescales to make sure our budgets and diaries are aligned. I tend to charge via a project fee rather than a day rate to ensure you know exactly what you’ll be paying for a specific set of deliverables.

3.  Time to get you booked in

Once we’ve agreed the brief, fees and timescale, it’s time to get your project booked in. I usually work a month ahead at any one time, but I can often fit in shorter, quick-turnaround tasks within a week. I require a 50% deposit before starting work on your project to enable me to block out dedicated diary time.

4.  Nailing the brief

Now it’s time to get the brief locked in. We’ll have a consultation meeting in which I dig deep to gain an in-depth understanding of your unique approach, your target market, competitors, USPs and desired tone of voice.

5.  Leave it with me

This is where you leave everything in my capable hands. I’ll carry out extensive research, conduct any necessary interviews, and then I’ll plan, structure and write your copy according to our agreed brief.

6.  Refine, refine, refine

My intention is to get your copy spot-on first time around, but if you do require any changes, there are two rounds of amendments included in my fee. As long as these tweaks are in line with the brief, I’m always happy to refine the copy to ensure you’re entirely happy with the end result.

7.  Project completed

With the final version of the copy completed, it’s time for you to set it free into the world to work its magic! My aim with any piece of copy is to get under the skin of your brand and write in a persuasive way with the customer at the heart of the message. Having spent more than 20 years working across journalism, copywriting and PR, I consistently achieve great results for my clients.
